A little under a week to go! I hope you have your items tagged and ready to go! If not, get moving because the clock is ticking, and you will be working with us before you know it! 

REMINDERS

Please double check your family calendars now. If you need to adjust any shifts, now is the time to do it so we don’t end up short-handed right before the sale. Direct (private) message Emily Cooper in Homebase to make any adjustments.  

Homebase Notifications:  

Make sure to turn on notifications on your phone settings and within the app so you get messages instantly. If you need to communicate in Homebase, please limit to direct (private) messaging. Hundreds of team members get pinged when commenting in group chats. Team Leads will periodically send out important information. – Emily Cooper is your point of contact for scheduling. 

Shift Attire:  

Plan to wear a black t-shirt or KidStuff Sale t-shirt during shifts. The black t-shirts look great against the colored aprons.  

Breaks

You receive a 30 min break for every 5-hours, 10 min for every 4-hours. Touch base with the Team Lead you’re working for on-site to coordinate breaks. The sales are fast-paced so you will need to advocate and coordinate your 30-min breaks. Clock in and out for all breaks. 

Meals

Parking is LIMITED and lunch breaks are short. Plan to bring your lunch or use Door Dashed. We will have to double check if we’ll have the refrigerator available this sale. More to follow on this. 

Seller/Team Check-In

For RETURNING those workers who selected to work the required number of hours to receive the FREE valet check-in, per the incentives email, please make sure you have selected a standard check-in appt time. Here are a couple of notes on the incentive:  

  • If you’re dropping off during valet hours, follow the valet check-in instructions on the website. 
  • Plan to drop your valet items off before/after your shift. 
  • You can drop your items off anytime (don’t worry about the date/time). 
  • If you are bringing your items outside the sale’s scheduled valet check-in time (i.e. Sunday), you will unload your own items in front of the register tables. See Emily for guidance once you arrive. You will need to unload your items, but they all go in one place. A Team Member will floor them for you during valet check-in. 
  • Large and infant equipment may need to be taken to the appropriate places if not arriving during valet drop-off due to limited space.

Team Shop:  

Confirmation of times will be sent via email once the schedule is finalized this week. We will have a list at the door. Also, Team shop is for team only – you are welcome to bring your spouse or a parent/grandparent but NO other guests during team shop. This is a special time for our KidStuff Team. Refer to the Jan 9th Team email for shop time based on hours worked. 

Pay

KidStuff Sale operates on a Thursday-Wednesday payroll schedule so you may be part of two pay periods. The payroll weeks are broken down into Sun-Wed and Thur-Sat. 

We’ll send another email on Saturday to wrap up any communication we may have missed and to provide directions for arrival of your shifts.

There are open shifts in Homebase if you want to see what works within your schedule.

We’ll send out some reminders later this week but plan to have a black t-shirt or KidStuff Sale t-shirt to wear…and comfortable shoes!

We are two weeks away from getting the KidStuff Fam back together! Yay! We can’t wait to see your smiling faces!  

There are plenty more shifts to grab in Homebase! You may pick as many shifts as you like. Please check your family calendars now. Don’t forget to double check your hours against the worker incentives. You can find those here at March Event Employee Emails webpage then scroll down to the Jan 9th email to see how many hours you need to earn different incentives; the incentives increase with the more hours you work. (Incentives include earlier presale shopping, additional inventory, early 50% off shopping, additional % in sales, free valet check-in)

We’ve had some requests for information about what each shift in Homebase entails.

Here you will find a list briefly outlining each shift. If you feel you would be better suited in another area, please reach out to me, Emily Cooper, in Homebase. Please understand that given the nature of KidStuff events, team members may be moved to various areas of the sale as needed – departmental assignments are a starting point to ensure the schedule is sufficiently covered.

I am going to start building the group message threads for each sale. Please try to minimize group messaging as it can go out to over a couple hundred team members. This thread is for the Team Leaders to push information quickly to the group.  

 

We still have plenty of opportunity to bring in new team members and shifts are still available for the In-Person sale. The Virtual sale is nearly full.  

 

We will have a Team Zoom call again this season and you will receive information about it soon. Keep an eye on email.

Team shop hours DO NOT include a plus one, with the exception of a spouse. All other plus ones are welcome to join you to shop during Seller presale hours.  

32+ hrs: *Free registration, shop Tues @ 8:30am, early access 50% off Fri at 3pm, 100 additional opening inventory items (**returning team – additional 5% & ***free valet check-in) 

24+ hrs: *Free registration, shop Tues @ 9:30am, early access 50% off Fri at 3pm, 75 additional opening inventory items (returning team – additional 4% & free valet check-in) 

20+ hrs: *Free registration, shop Tues @ 10:00am, early access 50% off Fri at 3pm, 50 additional opening inventory items (returning team – additional 3% & free valet check-in) 

16+ hrs: Shop Tues @ 10:00am, early access 50% off Fri at 3pm, 25 additional opening inventory items (returning team – free valet check-in)

**Only employees worked the March OR September 2023 In-Person sales are eligible for the returning team perks of the additional % of up to $500 in sales and FREE Valet Check-In. See below for more information on Valet. 

***Returning Team free valet guidance: If you bring your items outside of valet check-in hours you must unload your own items at the large item area and the Team will floor them during valet check-in.

When logging into Homebase to select your shifts, PLEASE tab over to the correct date range to find the openings. If you haven’t already, please complete the following:  

  1. Add your birthdate  
  2. Add a photograph to your profile 
  3. Turn on notifications (within app and on phone)

For questions regarding shift edits, schedule changes, or general scheduling inquiries, private message Emily Cooper via HomeBase. DO NOT SELECT FIND COVERAGE! If you get an accidental request from another team member, do not accept it. It makes it difficult for us to keep track of who should be on the schedule because we do not see these changes on our end of the system.  

If you have general human resource questions or need to update your contact information, mailing address, or bank account, please email Mark Decker at ma**@ki**********.com to determine what paperwork needs to be completed.  

If you’re unable to work with this sale, please let us know by replying to this email, as we’ll remove you from future employee communications for THIS SEASON. This will also help us open additional opportunities for new team members to join us. Thank you for supporting us previously if you are unable to participate again.
